GLP-1 Agonists and DPP-4 Inhibitors: How Do They Exert Their Metabolic Actions?

These slides discuss normal GLP-1 physiology and the pathophysiology in diabetes, review the differences in the mechanisms of action of various incretin-related therapies (GLP-1 analogs, DPP-4 inhibitors, and GLP-1 receptor agonists), and examine the clinical effects of DPP-4 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists. This slide deck is intended for use by primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with diabetes and/or weight management issues.
